What is a game ready?

Game Ready professionals are specialists who focus on preparing digital assets—such as character models, environments, and animations—for integration into video games. Their work ensures that assets are optimized for real-time performance, maintaining visual quality while minimizing resource usage. This process often involves tasks like reducing polygon counts, creating efficient texture maps, and setting up materials compatible with game engines. Game Ready professionals collaborate closely with artists, programmers, and designers to ensure assets function correctly within the game environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a game ready engineer?

To thrive as a Game Ready Engineer, you need a strong background in computer science, graphics programming, and experience with game engines or GPU technologies, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with tools like DirectX, Vulkan, Unreal Engine, and version control systems, along with certifications in software development or graphics, is typically required. Excellent problem-solving skills, collaboration, and adaptability are vital soft skills that set candidates apart in this role. These competencies ensure the optimization and compatibility of games across hardware, delivering high-quality experiences for end users.

What are some typical challenges faced by professionals in the game ready support role, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in the Game Ready support role often face the challenge of quickly troubleshooting technical issues related to hardware and software compatibility, especially around new game releases or driver updates. Staying up-to-date with frequent technology changes and effectively communicating solutions to both technical and non-technical users are key aspects of daily work. Collaborating closely with development, QA, and customer support teams ensures that issues are resolved promptly and that end-users have a positive experience. Continuous learning and strong problem-solving skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Job description

TherapySouth was founded in July 2006 by Steve Foster, PT, LAT. His vision was that TherapySouth would be a therapist-owned practice, specializing in "hands-on care, close to a patient's home or work". All of our clinics maintain a friendly atmosphere that helps patients feel at home in their surroundings. Having several locations allows patients to conveniently attend physical therapy two to three times per week to improve their daily functions. We know our patients' names when they walk in the door of our clinics!

At TherapySouth, we are dedicated to keeping our Core Values at the forefront of our minds. We believe in:

  • Perseverance
  • Faith
  • Family
  • Compassion
  • Integrity
  • Service
  • Giving
  • Fitness

TherapySouth is looking for a talented team-player for our Physical Therapy Technician opening. This position is a great opportunity to earn observation hours for PT School applications and make connections for possible future career opportunities. If hands on learning under the supervision of a physical therapist interests you, please apply below!

The Physical Therapy Technician position is an ideal entry level position for candidates interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or exercise science.

Essential Functions:

  1. Assist in the administration of physical therapy programs which are directly supervised by the treating physical therapist and/or physical therapy assistant.
  2. Clean and organize work area, change and clean linens, and disinfect equipment after treatment.
  3. Clarify the patient’s next scheduled appointment time.
  4. Prepare hot/cold packs and replace them for therapist as needed.
  5. Administer modalities as directed by physical therapist and/or physical therapy assistant.
  6. Prepare Game Ready with ice at the start of each shift and as needed. Keep ice trays filled and ice container full.
  7. Inform therapist if anything unusual is reported by the patient so they can determine if an adjustment needs to be made to the treatment plan.
  8. Straighten treatment rooms.
  9. Stock all carts, replace covering on anodyne pads as needed, refill ultrasound gel bottles, refill hydro collator water level and organize electrodes.
  10. Maintain and upgrade professional skills according to company needs and professional requirements.
  11. Comply with all company policies and procedures as well as State and Federal professional regulations.
  12. Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the company.

TherapySouth is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
