Job description

Quality Assurance Lead
Location: Hybrid with travel to Edgewood, MD; local candidates preferred
Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Leidos is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Lead to support the U.S. Army's Common Hardware Systems, 6th Generation (CHS 6) program. This position will serve as the program's Quality Assurance lead, partnering closely with program leadership to drive quality, compliance, process improvement, and operational excellence across a large and complex technology procurement and lifecycle support environment.
The Quality Assurance Lead will have a key role in establishing and maintaining the program's quality framework, leading quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives, analyzing performance and operational trends, and providing data driven recommendations to program leadership. This position is well suited for a quality professional who enjoys working across technical and operational teams, improving complex processes, and using quality management principles and data to drive measurable program performance.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement with travel to Edgewood, MD, based on customer and program needs, with travel anticipated to be up to 25%. Local candidates or those within a reasonable commuting distance of Edgewood are preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Works directly with the Program Manager to develop strategies, goals, tasks, roles, responsibilities, and information needs for QA surveillance.
  • Serve as the CHS-6 program's QA lead for the performance of planning, work product reviews, and quality audits
  • Implement and maintain the Quality Assurance program Plan (QAPP).
  • Analyze post-delivery reports; provide feedback for trends, recommend actions to correct procedural, product, or process deficiencies.
  • Assist in establishing and streamlining processes spanning multiple technical areas.
  • Facilitate lean six sigma improvement events to address complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple areas or disciplines.
  • Facilitate lean six sigma improvement events to employ ingenuity and creativity to develop new streamline processes and contributing to technical solutions.
  • Support development of Power BI dashboards to monitor contractor performance, inventory levels, and compliance with SLAs and PWS requirements.
  • Analyze survey feedback from military installation points of contact (POCs), identifying trends and key drivers of contractor satisfaction and dissatisfaction.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of service delivery issues, providing data-driven recommendations to improve program performance.
  • Provide ad-hoc data analysis and reports to support decision-making for program leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Identify key performance trends impacting program effectiveness, delivery orders, business operations system shortfalls, and regional variations in service delivery.
  • Support the integration of lean improvement solutions to streamline data extraction, transformation, and reporting; reduce manual work and improve accuracy.
  • Support Quality Management Reviews by reporting to higher level management on the program's quality achievements and the program's progress towards meeting quality objectives.
  • Update the program's Tailored Process Baseline (TPB), as required.
  • Provide review and input to program plans and other program documents in support of accurate and on-time CHS-6 deliverables.
  • Execute timely quality audits in adherence with the program's audit schedule and in compliance with Leidos policies and direction, report audit results to program leadership.
  • Generate corrective action requests for audit findings and maintain the Common Audit Database (CAD) with timely updates/closures of audit findings.
  • Support external audits conducted in support of maintaining the Enterprise AS9100 for CHS-6 at two site locations and required travel for on-site readiness, audits and pre-DCMA audits/inspections.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience or Master's degree with 2+ years prior relevant experience.
  • US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Quality assurance experience in a procurement environment.
  • Experience supporting program functions by identifying risks, researching technical issues, and gathering necessary information to inform PMO-level decision-making and Program-level strategic planning.
  • Demonstrated experience as a subject matter expert in quality assurance, supporting the development of new business operating processes and procedures that align with emerging trends and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with detailed analysis to mitigate risk and resolve operational issues and critical processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with reporting regulations; improvement events that enhance operational compliance.
  • Experience implementing ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience conducting quality audits and preparations for external certification.
  • Experience working with the following tools: SharePoint, MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and function in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry certification is desirable.
  • Familiarity with procurement/warehousing processes a plus.
