OVERVIEW:

The Surveillance Operator is responsible for monitoring casino activities through advanced surveillance systems to help protect guests, team members, assets, and the integrity of gaming operations. This position observes, records, and reports activities occurring throughout the casino and related facilities, ensuring compliance with gaming regulations, internal controls, company policies, and security procedures. The Surveillance Operator conducts investigations, prepares detailed reports, and collaborates with Security, Gaming Operations, and regulatory authorities when required. Success in this role requires strong observation skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while working in a highly regulated and fast-paced casino environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for providing routine surveillance of the gaming flooridentifyingpotential problems, such as poor game protection, suspicious individuals, and acting as a support unit to other departments in relation to the protection of company assets.

  • Able to pay attention to detail and sound observational skills are critical as you are conducting reviews,writingand completing reports and logs that could be used as evidence in legal matters that have resulted from criminal charges against patrons or employees.

  • Works under Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulations andcomplywith all applicable laws,policiesand procedures.

  • Alwaysmaintainsan awareness of the gaming operation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPIERENCE, EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A secondary school diploma, with preferencetograduates with apost-secondaryeducation in Law and Security.

  • A minimum of one (1) or more years of experience in a Security related field or gaming related positions (Cage, Slot, Table Games or Audit).

  • Knowledge of computer applications.

  • Casino Surveillance or related surveillance experienceanasset

  • The ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds or more.

  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a highly regulated and controlled environment, but there will be times when you will need to be on the Casino Floor to complete job functions as outlined or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, excessive noise.
