Job description

At Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa, we create authentic experiences that rock. As the Cage Shift Manager, you are the operational backbone of our financial transactions during your shift. You'll oversee daily cage activities-including cashiering, main cage, and vault operations holding multi-million dollar funds-ensuring flawless accountability, tight regulatory control, and top-tier guest experiences.
Working closely with the Cage Operations Manager and fellow shift leaders, you will foster a high-performing team, streamline processes, and maintain absolute integrity across all financial touchpoints. In the absence of the Cage Operations Manager, you will step up as the primary point of leadership for the department. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and know how to lead with confidence, precision, and hospitality, we want you on our team.
Responsibilities
  • Shift Operations & Leadership: Direct and oversee shift activities across Casino Cages, Main Cages, and Vault operations through subordinate supervisors; step in to manage overall department operations in the absence of the Cage Operations Manager.
  • Asset Safeguarding & Vault Control: Oversee the security, accountability, and balancing of company funds, including vault balances in excess of $4 million.
  • Guest Service Excellence: Drive a customer-first culture on the floor by monitoring staff interactions, offering actionable feedback, and ensuring quick, accurate financial services.
  • Compliance & Security: Enforce strict adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards (including CNGC, IRS, and OHRC); collaborate with Security, Surveillance, and Accounting to investigate variances or suspicious activity.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work seamlessly with interacting departments to balance business needs, ensure equipment efficiency (ATMs, check cashing, ticket redemption, cash advance tools), and maintain operational flow.
  • Team Development & Staffing: Hire, schedule, train, and mentor department staff to build institutional knowledge, drive performance, and support succession planning.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify operational bottlenecks and assist in implementing streamlined, efficient workflow processes.

Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: Associate's degree combined with at least 1 year of directly related cage, vault, or financial management experience (or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience).
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and performance-manage a team in a high-volume setting.
  • Technical & Analytical Aptitude: Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in basic office tech and standard business software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests, team members, and executive leadership.
  • Regulatory Licensing: Ability to obtain and maintain valid licensing through the appropriate tribal gaming authority (Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission).
  • Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Physical & Environmental Adaptability: Comfort working in a dynamic casino environment (indoor office and casino floor setting with occasional exposure to smoke, loud noise, and bright lights); ability to stand/walk for extended periods and comfortably lift or move up to 25 lbs.
