Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Ballpark Security Guard position is responsible for providing game-day security services at BayCare Ballpark as well as year-round coverage on and off-season. In addition, this person will also be responsible for monitoring security at Carpenter Complex. Candidates must be willing to work event-based hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as the ballpark's schedule requires. This is a customer facing position that requires a high level of customer service, while maintaining the safety and security of our ballpark for our guests. Incumbent must be trustworthy and dependable in order to handle sensitive situations with care and diligence.

This position will be located on-site in Clearwater, FL.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform scheduled and random checks of designated areas throughout the facility to check for any security breaches.
  • Verify players, coaches, and staff at various checkpoints throughout the facility.
  • Assist on major and minor league game days with crowd control throughout the ballpark and training facility.
  • Assist the maintenance staff in securing an area during maintenance emergencies.
  • Collaborate with other members of the corporate security team to ensure that the facility is always secure.
  • Communicate with other team members via two-way radio.
  • Coordinate with local police and fire departments and interpret fire alarm panels to guide emergency responders during alarm events.
  • Patrol premises regularly to ensure they are secure while navigating stairs as well as operation of a golf cart.
  • Follow established security protocols while using sound initiative and good judgment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Physically able to navigate a large facility, including prolonged standing, walking & regular stair ascent/descent.
  • Willingness to work in varying outdoor weather conditions (sun, rain, wind, hot/cold temperature).
  • Police, military, or security experience preferred, but not required.
  • Valid driver's license and desire to operate a motor vehicle required.
  • Individual must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication and have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to stay alert while maintaining strong attention to detail.
