WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As a Finance Intern at Kids in the Game, you will play a vital role in supporting various finance and accounting activities within the organization. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal, communication, written, and analytical skills.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and present the gross margin of business segments on a monthly basis, providing recommendations to improve efficiency and achieve economies of scale.
  • Report on the finance department's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) monthly and assist the Finance Manager in analyzing budget versus actual performance for revenue, costs, and operating expenses.
  • Review weekly Accounts Receivable Aging Reports, assisting the finance team in managing the invoicing process for schools, families, and customers.
  • Support the finance team in daily Accounts Payable management, including vendor payments and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Build and analyze pricing models for different school programs, conducting scenario-based gross margin analysis.
  • Analyze the company's historical and current school portfolio, forecasting the potential financial impact of incremental growth and new customers for the following school year.
  • Collaborate with other departments, leading meetings to report and evaluate monthly gross margins for each program.

Kids in the Game offers seasonal internships throughout the year. Internships are typically 14-18 weeks long and Interns would be expected to work between 25-35 hours per week. Below are the dates for each season.
  • Fall 2026: September 8th - December 18th
  • Spring 2027: January 11th - May 21st
  • Summer 2027: May 24th - August 27th

Compensation: Internships are unpaid opportunities for first term Interns. However, there are potential opportunities to extend for a second term, paid internship. We can also offer class credit where applicable.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Recent graduate or current master's student seeking experience in organizational finance.
  • Experienced in data analytics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work cross-departmentally in a fast-paced environment.
