Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, TCG the Game Design Manager brings general studio, TCG, and industry knowledge to the vertical leadership team. They are responsible for managing the game designers of the TCG Design + Development team. They help ensure that each team member has the proper bandwidth to support assigned projects, while also providing individualized career development, coaching, and encouragement.

Additionally, the Game Design Manager is considered the central point of contact for the TCG Design + Development team, ensuring that information is being delivered to the team from vertical leadership meetings, studio-wide initiatives, and asmodee direction, while also delivering individual or team concerns back to those meetings or leadership teams.

What will your role involve
  • Track the progress of all TCG game design and development-related vertical projects.
  • Manage day-to-day tasks of TCG game designers and developers.
  • Reallocate assignments and responsibilities of the TCG Design + Development team as needed.
  • Provide motivational support, coaching, and encouragement to TCG game designers and developers.
  • Innovate processes and training to streamline the vertical and support the TCG Design + Development team.
  • Playtest and review TCG products with staff to ensure milestones are met and quality is upheld.
  • Ensure internal and external TCG product playtesting procedures are efficient and effective.
  • Communicate needs and maintain strong working relationships with other teams, both within and beyond the vertical (Organized Play, Marketing, Licensing, Art, Graphic Design, Production, etc.).
  • Maintain good working relationships with various licensors, partners, and freelancers.
  • All other assignments as required by management.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Three to five years in a leadership/management capacity.
  • Experience working in tabletop game design and development, with TCG experience preferred.
