Entertainment & Game Day Staff (Pond Patrol)
Role Summary
The Entertainment & Game Day Staff (Pond Patrol) is a co-ed promotional team that brings waves of high energy, helping create a home advantage for the Toledo Walleye. This team requires a positive attitude, being comfortable in front of a crowd, and bringing high energy to gametime. Pond Patrol's main objective is to create an unforgettable experience for all fans. We're looking for energetic, outgoing individuals to be a part of our Pond Patrol. The official fan entertainment team of the Toledo Walleye! if you love hockey, hyping up crowds, and being in the middle of the action, this is the role for you.
This schedule is flexible working nights, weekends and some holidays.
If you move past the interview phase, there will be Auditions for the next step. The hiring manager will inform of those dates once confirmed.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Walleye game day experience and create unforgettable moments for our Fans!
Essential Responsibilities and Skills
  • Assist with pre-game and in-game ceremonies and promotions for games and events, including, but not limited to: Toledo Mud Hens games, Toledo Walleye games, community fundraisers, concerts, pre- and post-game events, youth sports, high school and college baseball games, field/ice rentals, season ticket holder events, charitable auctions.
  • Provide high energy to engage with fans to provide FANatical experiences.
  • Comfortable in front of fans performing dance routines, t-shirt tosses, prize giveaways etc.
  • Assist with the load-in and load-out of event entertainment equipment, props, and giveaways.
  • Prep and utilize equipment and props and other materials that will used during the game/event.
  • Ensure all pre-game, in-game, and post-game entertainment elements occur promptly at their pre-designated time and are executed properly.
  • Find/secure contestants as required; escort talent, guests, experiential participants, and/or staff as requested.
  • Quickly adapt to changes to scripted elements.
  • Ensure any/all safety and other precautions have been taken regarding participants in all promotions and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience
  • College students prefer pursuing a bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Arts, Entertainment, Hospitality or another related field.
  • Dance or cheer experience is a plus.
  • Ice skating experience is a plus.
  • This role can be considered an internship for college credit.

Skills & Competencies
  • Energetic and outgoing personality.
  • Comfortable in front of large crowds and on camera.
  • Friendly and approachable.
  • Ability to follow directions written/oral/diagram.
  • Strong customer service skills, and a smiling, cheerful demeanor.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work well in a team.

Working Environment
  • Occasionally lifting promotional items and props as needed, weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, etc. for the duration of the shift.
  • Game days will be outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
