Job description

Position Title:
Student Worker - Athletics Game Day Assistant (Work-Study)
Job Description:
The purpose of the Gameday Assistant is to ensure our Gamedays are put on successfully, organized, and up to the standards of the operations department as well as Mount Athletics. They must have knowledge and understanding of Division 1 sports and work in a fast-paced environment with most games occurring in the evenings and on weekends. Students must have great communication skills and be able to work as a team and independently. Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities and Operations, the Gameday Assistants will work closely with our Coordinator of Facilities and Events as well as our Assistant Director. Students will ensure that the standards set forth by the Athletic Department are being upheld.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service. Assist with any questions asked.
  • Assist in general set up and tear down for home game days, which includes sweeping, ball runners, locker room preparations, field set-up, towels and assisting other departments in athletics.
  • Students are expected to work both indoor and outdoor games, working in all weather conditions.
  • Students are responsible for all communication on shifts. It is your responsibility to work any shift you are assigned to or pick up
  • Assist in overseeing crowd management, security operations, and emergency preparedness for all events
  • Perform cleaning responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled as a student at Mount St. Mary's University
  • Applicants are expected to be personable, organized, self-motivated, and team oriented.
  • Applicants should possess skills in time management, problem-solving, and fast-paced environments.
