Position Highlights
  • Assist the Head Baseball Coach with the planning, development, and daily operations of the NCAA Division III Baseball program.
  • Recruit academically qualified and talented student-athletes who will contribute to the success of the program both on and off the field.
  • Support the planning and supervision of practices, game preparation, and coaching responsibilities during competition.
  • Develop and implement student-athlete skill development programs that promote athletic growth and performance.
  • Serve as a mentor and advisor to student-athletes, fostering their academic, personal, and leadership development.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of and commitment to NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with athletics staff to deliver an exceptional student-athlete experience centered on integrity, respect, and excellence.

The Assistant Baseball Coach will join a collaborative and student-focused team that is committed to helping student-athletes thrive both in competition and in the classroom.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Builds relationships with players to provide mentorship, guidance, and support both on and off the field/court
  • Coaches and instructs student athletes during practices and on game day in how to perform their sport such as proper skills and instruction of fundamentals, physical health, team concepts, and safety
  • Support the overall physical conditioning needs of student-athletes in conjunction with the head coach and strength & conditioning staff
  • Conducts player evaluations and develop plans to enhance the student-athlete experience
  • Seeks out, applies, and shares knowledge of sport trends and innovations in playing and teaching
  • Assists with practice planning, workouts, scouting, film breakdown, and game management
  • Collaborates with the head coach to devise game plans and strategies for upcoming opponents
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to manage and maintain confidential and private information; uses confidential, sensitive and/or private records and information, protects information appropriately
  • Understand the importance of working in close partnership with students, faculty, staff, parents, administration, alumni, community partners, and prospective students
  • Have a personal style that is professional, personable, approachable, and politically astute
  • Ability to attract, recruit, retain, inspire and motivate highly qualified student-athletes
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and electronic communications skills, including the ability to convey complex information in accessible terms to diverse or multicultural audiences

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • NCAA Coaches Certification, or ability to pass certification test
  • AED/CPR and First Aid Certification
