Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant – Baseball. This position reports directly to the Head Baseball Coach and is located in River Forest, IL.Candidates must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a Concordia University Chicago graduate program. Responsibilities/Duties: Assist in the organization and implementation of team practices and training sessionsReview film and complete statistical summaries of opponentsCoordinate travel arrangements for players and staffAttend recruiting events, discuss player evaluations, communicate with prospects, schedule on-campus visits and maintain the program recruiting databaseCoordinate Game Days, which includes the following:Set up, take down, and locker room assignmentsScoresheets, video footage and other conference requirements as neededOrganize and attend home athletic events as a member of athletic administration and a game day managerAid in academic monitoring to ensure student athletes are competitively approaching their academic curriculumProvide insights and assist with the branding of the program across the university and surrounding communityAssist with all elements of program events including camps, fundraisers and community service opportunitiesResponsible to keeping an accurate inventory of all baseball equipment and uniformsResponsible for proper care of equipment and uniformsSupport rostered student-athletes academically, athletically, and emotionally during the transition to CUC, as well as during their enrollment at CUC.Oversee the growth and development of student-athletes in the skills necessary for specific position(s) within the baseball programDevelop practice strategies to improve the skill development of student-athletesAll other duties as assigned by the Head CoachRequirements: Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, Google Docs, etc.)Excellent organization skillsStrong communication skills in working with students, faculty and administrationBachelor's degree & collegiate playing experience requiredCoaching experienced preferredCandidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS). Application Information:Interested individuals should include a cover letter, resume and references with their online application.Concordia does not discriminate in the employment of individuals on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, disability, sex or age.
