Global Trade Intern
Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and leader in orthopedic product development and medical education. The Global Trade team in Fort Myers, Florida, supports international trade compliance, export operations, and global logistics processes. We are seeking a Global Trade Intern to assist with project work focused on master data validation, Power BI dashboard support, export shipment tracking, documentation recordkeeping, Bill of Materials review, and Letter of Credit support. This internship will provide hands-on experience with trade compliance processes while allowing the student to build practical skills in data review, documentation management, cross-system analysis, and operational support. The successful candidate will work closely with the Global Trade team to help maintain accurate records, support daily export activities, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
This internship will run from January 2027 - April 2027. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 20-30 hours per week at our Fort Myers, FL facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Master Data Validation and Power BI Support:
    • Help review and clean data used in Global Trade Power BI dashboards, learn how to identify data issues, and share findings with the team to support accurate reporting.
  • Export Shipment Tracking:
    • Assist with tracking daily export shipments and updating basic shipment details, such as Actual Date of Export and Port of Export, while helping keep shipment records organized and up to date.
  • Export Documentation Recordkeeping:
    • Help organize export records for government-contracted accounts, learn proper documentation practices, and assist with keeping files complete and easy to access.
  • Bill of Materials Analysis:
    • Assist with basic Bill of Materials reviews by comparing information across systems, documenting potential discrepancies, and learning how product data supports trade compliance activities.
  • Letter of Credit Support:
    • Support the team by gathering and organizing documents needed for Letter of Credit transactions, while learning basic documentation requirements and assisting with tracking requested items.
  • Free Trade Agreement Data Collection:
    • Collect and organize supplier, product, and country-of-origin information for Free Trade Agreement reviews, assist with checking information for completeness, and maintain supporting documentation

Education and Experience:
  • Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Supply Chain, International Business, or Data Analytics (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and/or Power BI fundamentals preferred.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
  • PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
