Purpose
Student assistants (Work Study or Non-Work Study) needed for work in a closed-stacks, secure library and archives environment. Work study and non-work study students welcome to apply. About UT Austin - Dolph Briscoe Center for American History - As a leading history research center, we collect, preserve, and make available documentary and material culture evidence encompassing key themes in Texas and U.S. history. Researchers, students, and the public use our collections for a wide range of academic, professional, and personal uses. Our collections also inspire our own projects, including books, exhibits, programs, films, and educational materials. The Dolph Briscoe Center for American History is an organized research unit and public service component of The University of Texas at Austin.
Responsibilities
  • Duties include retrieving and shelving materials in a wide variety of formats (40%);
  • circulation of materials stored offsite; maintaining vertical files articles; filing; data entry (40%);
  • special archival and library projects and other duties as assigned (20%)

Required Qualifications
  • Must be able to work during the fall semester, M-F, sometime between 8:30am - 5:00pm

Preferred Qualifications
  • If schedule and availability permits, opportunity for employment may continue semester-by-semester.

Salary Range
  • $12.00 per hour

  • May work around standard office conditions

Work Shift
  • Can work Monday through Friday, between 8:30am - 5:00pm, between 5 and 19 hours per week (max 19 hours per week). Hours scheduled on a semester-by-semester basis depending on class schedule.
