Join a beautiful, coastal 160‑bed hospital that combines small‑community warmth with the resources of a larger health system. This faith‑based organization is known for its collaborative culture, supportive leadership, and commitment to whole‑person, family‑centered care.

You will report to a highly respected Director of Women’s & Children’s Services who is recognized for her accessibility, mentorship, and skill in managing union relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for an engaged, hands‑on nurse leader to grow within a stable and expanding regional network.

Position summary

The Manager RN – Labor & Delivery and Mom/Baby provides clinical and operational leadership for perinatal services, including L&D and postpartum units. This leader maintains a strong presence on the unit, partnering closely with staff, charge nurses, physicians, and other department leaders to ensure safe, high‑quality, family‑centered care and an outstanding patient experience.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and support front‑line nurses and ancillary staff in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum/Mom‑Baby units.

  • Foster teamwork, engagement, and open communication while promoting professional growth and accountability.

  • Partner with educators and clinical leaders to assess training needs and support ongoing education, competencies, and evidence‑based practice.

  • Monitor unit performance, quality indicators, patient outcomes, and regulatory compliance (including maternal‑child safety and perinatal standards).

  • Champion initiatives that improve throughput, patient safety, and satisfaction for mothers, newborns, and families.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Women’s & Children’s Services to align unit goals with departmental and organizational strategies.

  • Support positive working relationships within a union/collective bargaining environment, ensuring fair application of policies and agreements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Current California RN license.

  • NRP certification required; additional perinatal certifications (e.g., fetal monitoring) preferred.

  • Minimum two years of acute‑care nursing experience (perinatal strongly preferred) and at least one year of formal leadership experience (e.g., manager, supervisor, or charge RN).

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills with the ability to build trust and engagement across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Demonstrated success working in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment; experience in a union setting and with quality/regulatory initiatives in L&D is highly valued.

  • Full‑time position; no visa sponsorship available.
