Job description

Job Title
Repair Technician
Job Overview
The primary function of the Repair Technician is to open, inspect, deluxe, and rewrap product for special inspections on the Shipping dock. The Repair Technician will repair any pieces brought from the Shipping department that were found to be damaged during the loading process. The Repair Technician is stationed at the Repair Shop to open and inspect all product brought to this area from Returns or within the DC. The Repair Technician will determine the final disposition of these pieces. Responsibilities will include:
  • Repair upholstery and case product
  • Inspect for flawed or damaged product
  • Work with Shipping personnel to replace damaged goods
  • Report potential QC issues
  • Determine final destination of all damaged products
  • Perform both Regular and White Glove Special Inspections
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate proactively and effectively including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of Repair Experience.
  • Strong knowledge and competence on: Case Goods repair, Upholstery repair.
  • Ability to identify various product types.
  • Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old to be considered for employment with Bob's.

Physical Demands
  • Able to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, push and handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of the distribution center.
  • Move objects up to 250 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Stand and walk continuously to perform job functions.
