Summary Description:
OurCalling is seeking a detail-oriented, driven, and people-first Development Associate to join our team and play a crucial role in supporting advancement operations. The Development Associate will provide administrative support for fundraising and donor engagement efforts by managing the donor database, processing and acknowledging contributions, generating reports, and coordinating donor communications and inquiries. This role requires excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to engage and support various constituencies. The Development Associate will work both independently and in collaboration with the Advancement team and under the direction of the Advancement Manager. This is an incredible opportunity to join a dedicated team and drive progress for a pioneering organization that addresses the needs of the most vulnerable in our community.
Essential Functions:
  • Maintain and update donor and gift records within the organization's CRM database
  • Process and acknowledge donations accurately and promptly
  • Assign stewardship tasks to portfolio managers promptly after gifts are inputted
  • Generate reports and mailing lists for development campaigns and events
  • Prepare and send thank-you letters, tax receipts, and other donor communications
  • Assist in implementing donor engagement strategies (e.g., prospect list management, regular updates, recognition)
  • Assist with event logistics, including RSVPs, registrations, and materials
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries received through the development department's phone line and email
  • Support all portfolio managers with duties such as scheduling individual meetings, making reservations, ordering catering, and entering visit notes in CRM
  • Understand and communicate the mission, programs, distinctives, and impact of OurCalling
  • Support all Advancement team members with other duties as needed

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Ideal candidate will possess one year of related experience in administration, operations, or development
  • Proficient in using excel, databases, software programs, and office equipment
  • One or more years of experience with CRM software, Virtuous preferred
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop appropriate systems, prioritize, and walk all projects through to completion
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality

The pay range for this role is:
42,000 - 42,000 USD per year (OurCalling - Cesar Chavez)
