We are seeking a Mortgage Funder/Closer to join our growing organization. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who is reliable, efficient, has a sense of responsibility, and the willingness to learn. The Mortgage Funder/Closer will coordinate all phases of the closing process including preparing closing packages, communicating with all parties involved in the transaction, and ensuring that all documentation is complete, accurate and in compliance with legal regulations.
*Will consider remote work if residence is farther than a 50-mile radius from Chatsworth, CA.
Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and prepare all closing and legal documents in accordance to state and/or federal regulations
  • Ensure all disclosures are prepared accurately and in conformance with TRID and Investor policies, guidelines and timelines
  • Ensure that all loans are closed without delays and comply with company and investor requirements
  • Confirm that loans are closing only after Underwriter's final approval
  • Address questions from internal and external parties regarding closings and proactively handle any issues that may arise
  • Meet performance requirements (volume, quality, and timeliness)
  • Work with a high sense of urgency when responding to follow-ups and internal/external communications
  • Review funding documents for completeness and accuracy, prior to authorizing loans to fund
  • Communicate with loan officers, processors, escrow officers, and settlement agents to keep them updated throughout the closing process, and fund loans in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all loan conditions outlined by the underwriter are cleared, performing updated verification tasks, and coordinating with title companies as required
  • Request daily wires from warehouse banks
  • Meet production and quality standards consistently
  • Work independently and manage pipeline to ensure deadlines and production goals are met
  • Assist with post-closing functions, as needed
  • Provide daily status to manager on all unfunded loans
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Requirements
  • 2 years TRID experience in funding/closing
  • 3+ years Mortgage experience
  • 2+ years Encompass Experience Preferred
  • Must be able to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documentation
  • Ability to respond effectively and urgently to inquiries or complaints
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • High School Diploma/GED
