Job description

Description

Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to support our surgical team by preparing patients for surgery and providing attentive post-operative care. This role is vital in ensuring our patients feel safe, supported, and ready at every phase of their surgical experience.


Pay: $44.58 per hour with only those benefits required by law.


Schedule: Monday through Friday (no weekends, no holidays and no call required)

Requirements

Minimum Required Education/Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited learning institution. Minimum of three years work experience in direct nursing care is preferred.


Pre-Employment Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

Demonstrated knowledge, skill and understanding of nurse role in a surgical setting.

Advanced skill in patient safety in surgery setting; assume role as patient advocate.

Advanced skill in clinical judgement, observation, knowledge and assessments with the ability to foresee needs that are essential to the success of the operation/surgery.

Demonstrated ability to recognize and respond to opportunities for improvement through continual learning, changes in approach based on situation and professional practice behavior.

Ability to operate general office equipment including computer software applications (e-mail, scheduling software, electronic health records, etc.)

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits professionalism in completing the circulating nurse role.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees and administration.

Note: An acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted.


Necessary Special Requirements: Must obtain annual flu vaccination and any job-specific immunizations. Required to complete Tuberculosis testing/screening.


Licenses or Certificates: Valid state license as an RN. Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support/PALS certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support/ACLS certification (may be obtained at facility)
