Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Fund Accountant to lead financial reporting and fund operations across multiple real estate investment funds. This individual will play a key role in financial statement preparation, consolidations, investor reporting, and coordinating with fund administrators while serving as a trusted point of contact for investors, lenders and auditors.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Prepare and review multi-tiered waterfall calculations against fund governing documents.
  • Oversee fund administrator preparation of capital call and distribution calculations and notices.
  • Reconcile capital activity calculations to investor notices and investor portal CRM.
  • Monitor and review property draw/distribution activity templates and wire preparations.
Quarter-End Close & Financial Reporting
  • Aggregate property-level financials and transaction support for fund administrator to produce quarterly books and records.
  • Review P&L allocations to ensure accuracy of fair value adjustments, investment activity, and capital movements.
  • Perform consolidation of multiple entities across complex ownership structures.
  • Lead preparation and review of face financial statements and footnote disclosures, including financial highlights. Ensure accuracy of financial highlights including IRRs and expense ratios.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for interim and year-end testing.
Lender Compliance & Reporting
  • Compile financial statement support for borrower and guarantor reporting.
  • Prepare compliance certificates and calculate covenant tests (e.g., DSCR, liquidity, net worth). Serve as a primary contact for lender inquiries.
  • Maintain loan covenant log and real estate schedule to track debt and equity capitalization for Foundry's commercial real estate portfolio.
Investor Reporting
  • Act as primary contact with investors on accounting and performance-related matters.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of subscriptions and transfers in accordance with transaction agreements.
  • Provide financial accounting information to Foundry Investment Management team to support preparation of quarterly investor materials.
  • Review quarterly investor materials for internal consistency and accuracy.
Accounts Payable & Expense Management
  • Oversee funds accounts payable process in Bill.com and review expense coding for JSQ-administered entities. Ensure prompt payment of vendor invoices.
  • Maintain entity-level expense forecasts to ensure timely payments and liquidity.
Education & Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA license preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in fund accounting, preferably in real estate, private credit, or private equity.
  • Experience with financial reporting, accounting consolidations, and waterfall models.
  • Knowledge of differences between open end and close end fund structures.
  • Experience with Yardi, Bill.com, and working fund administrators preferred.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Focus on understanding and improving existing processes through structure/technology implementation, and intuition for practical applications of AI tools.
  • Strong organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
