Will you be our future Systems Architecture Engineer?

Your future role

The systems architecture team is responsible for ensuring that the design and integration of equipment comply with all regional requirements and standards, thereby ensuring the reliable and safe operation of the train as a whole.

Within this team, the role of Systems Architecture Engineer is fundamental to translating client requirements and needs into appropriate solutions by providing expertise in systems engineering. In this context, you are responsible for developing technical requirements and defining the architecture of various train systems while adhering to Business, Standards, Certification, Safety, Platform, and Client requirements.

You are bilingual (French-English) with expertise in systems integration and a good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software concepts—you are our ideal candidate.This position, based at the St-Bruno site on the South Shore of Montreal, is a permanent full-time role (40 hours/week) - Ability to work in an international, multi-site, and matrix organization. Hybrid work environment – 3 days in the office, with additional days required for critical projects. Occasional travel to Alstom sites or customer locations in Quebec, Ontario, and the US.

Your main responsibilities

  • Develop technical and cross-functional requirements and allocate them to the various subsystems
  • Define the train system architecture, operating modes, and operational functionalities
  • Define and implement the train verification strategy and write the test specifications.
    Resolve technical issues during the commercial introduction of the train.
    Strictly adhere to the existing processes, methods, and tools corresponding to these activities

Your mission

  • Ensure technical leadership by demonstrating method, rigor, and proactivity
  • Comply with client requirements and ensure the quality of your deliverables
  • Maintain close collaboration with the engineering teams dedicated to the project
  • Monitor the project level (towards the lead engineer, via KPIs) and the business level
  • Continuous improvement / management of lessons learned (LoE) from previous projects

About You

  • University degree BSc/MSc in Engineering or a related field
  • Expertise in developing and integrating computer and technical system architectures to ensure their coherence, performance, and security- Familiarity with engineering processes and analysis tools/methodologies

  • Proficiency in computer tools (Microsoft Suite, SAP)
