Location: Jensen Meat Company - Otay Mesa, CA (local candidates preferred) 

Overview:  Jensen Meat Company is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to oversee and enhance food safety and quality assurance programs across both our FDA plant-based and USDA regulated meat production divisions. This position plays a critical role in maintaining certifications, ensuring compliance with FDA/USDA regulations, and championing a culture of continuous improvement in food safety, sanitation, and quality assurance practices.  The ideal candidate has a strong background in food manufacturing food safety, quality and microbiological systems, regulatory compliance, and team leadership. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, sanitation, R&D, and supply chain to maintain excellence in quality and safety standards across all product lines. 

Food Safety & Quality Program Leadership  

Lead and maintain SQF, FSMA, HACCP, and Preventive Control programs across both divisions.  

Ensure compliance with FDA and USDA regulations, including routine internal validations and audits.  

Maintain certifications including Non-GMO Project, Kosher, Organic, Halal, and Certified Humane.  

Conduct nutritional audits and manage Genesis Nutrition Facts Panel creation and updates.  

Oversee packaging claims, certifications, and USDA and FDA label compliance (NFP, ingredient statements, allergen declarations).  

Compliance, Documentation & Reporting 

Interface with regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and customer QA teams to ensure audit readiness.  

Review product specifications, COAs, testing protocols, and maintain up-to-date QA documentation.  

Ensure all sanitation, microbiological, and lab testing procedures are conducted and meet company and regulatory standards.   Prepare and present KPI reports detailing microbiological trends, deficiencies, and corrective actions. 

Requirements

Qualifications:  

Bachelor's degree in food science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.   Minimum 5 years of Food Safety Quality Assurance experience in a USDA or FDA regulated food manufacturing environment. (Dual inspection experience preferred)  

Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FSMA, SQF, USDA/FDA regulatory requirements, and third-party certifications.  

Proficient in Genesis Nutritional Software, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP systems.  

Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and analytical skills.  

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.  

Ability to work weekends as needed and thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
