Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a Project Manager – Innovation & Data/AI Portfolio position for our client.

Location: New York, NY
Duration: 12 months

Duties:

  • Lead and manage projects within an Innovation, Data, and AI portfolio from initiation through completion.

  • Lead cross-functional project teams delivering custom development solutions, innovation initiatives, and/or application maintenance and support.

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while balancing priorities, resources, schedules, budgets, scope, and business requirements.

  • Manage project intake processes, including handling high volumes of requests, assessing priorities, coordinating stakeholders, and supporting portfolio-level prioritization.

  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, risk and issue logs, and other project management artifacts.

  • Coordinate resources across internal teams, client employees, third-party vendors, and other project stakeholders to ensure effective execution.

  • Establish and maintain effective communication plans and provide regular project status updates to stakeholders, sponsors, and senior leadership.

  • Develop and use project and portfolio reporting to support day-to-day execution within delivery squads and provide leadership updates across individual projects and the broader portfolio.

  • Use tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps (ADO) to track project progress, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, and team activities.

  • Apply both traditional project management and Agile methodologies to manage projects and programs effectively.

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and support teams in maintaining delivery momentum while translating Agile execution and metrics into reporting that is meaningful to senior leadership.

  • Identify and proactively manage project risks, issues, dependencies, scope changes, and resource constraints.

  • Ensure projects are delivered within approved scope, cost, schedule, and quality requirements while meeting business objectives and contractual obligations.

  • Partner with business stakeholders, technical teams, product owners, sponsors, and leadership to define objectives, manage expectations, and drive successful outcomes.

  • Support innovation initiatives involving traditional data technologies, AI, and/or Generative AI as appropriate.

Skills:

  • Strong traditional project management and Agile project/program management skills.

  • Subject matter expertise in Data, AI, and/or Generative AI preferred.

  • Strong project intake and prioritization experience, particularly in environments with large volumes of requests.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong communication, presentation, organization, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical delivery teams and business stakeholders/sponsors.

  • Experience creating and utilizing project and portfolio reports for operational execution and leadership updates.

  • Experience with JIRA and/or Azure DevOps (ADO).

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, processes, tools, and best practices.

  • Ability to translate Agile delivery metrics and program status into clear communications for senior leaders accustomed to traditional project portfolio management.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and risk-management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.

Experience:

  • Senior-level project management experience leading complex, cross-functional projects or programs.

  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently across an innovation, technology, data, or AI portfolio.

  • Experience managing project intake, demand management, prioritization, and portfolio coordination.

  • Experience working with both traditional/waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.

  • Experience managing Agile programs and communicating program status, metrics, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.

  • Experience using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar project management and work-tracking tools.

  • Experience working with technical teams, business stakeholders, project sponsors, and third-party vendors.

  • Experience in Data, AI, Generative AI, or related technology initiatives is strongly preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field preferred.

  • PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, or other relevant project management certification is a plus.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
