Job description

Standard Job Description
Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Manufacturing Engineer Associate Manager, your responsibilities will include:
• Supervision of all direct reports including career development, employee engagement, time approval, recruiting, staffing, and yearly reviews
• Assisting in establishing hazard prevention measures including personnel training programs for all phases of production operations including safety and ergonomics
• Being the circuit card SME with an in-depth knowledge of associated production processes including but not limited to fabrication, assembly, and special processes for both surface-mount and thru-hole variants to work quickly and efficiently in resolving issues
• Establishing methods for maximum utilization of the production facilities, equipment, and personnel utilizing lean six sigma concepts to improve capacity and work-flow efficiencies throughout production
• Ensuring router/mBOM development, work instructions, tooling/fixturing, and area layout changes are completed on-time to prevent late starts and achieve targeted requirements for cost, schedule, & quality
• Maintain a technical roadmap/functional excellence plan that identifies emerging technologies to improve work efficiencies, performance, and affordability including supporting the planning, purchase, & coordinating of capital equipment
• Engaging other LM sites to develop common processes and best practices to strengthen our partnerships to achieve 1LMX mission success
• Lead the team in providing proposal basis of estimates for both non-recurring & recurring tasks and providing thorough rationale for achieving performance targets
• Overseeing Manufacturing Engineering functional processes such as machine programming, preventive maintenance, tool orders, the Build-to-Print process, MPP redline process, etc. as established by both local and Command Media procedures.
• Brief functional management, project management, senior leaders, and customers as required on process technology, product issue resolution, personnel development plans and status, organization issues/progress, etc.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5 years' related experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering discipline
  • Must be U.S. citizen

Desired Skills
  • 5 years of circuit card automated process experience (e.g. SMT, wave solder, select solder, conformal coating)
  • Familiar with IPC CFX, HERMES, and SMEMA
  • Experience mentoring and leading
  • Proven ability to challenge the status quo and implement changes
  • Capital equiment experience (e.g. Statement of Work, down selecting, verification of new equipment)
  • Ability to apply LSS principles (lean six sigma)

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $94400.00 - $175200.00
