Senior Functional Consultant – NetSuite

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Functional Consultant to lead functional delivery and solution design across NetSuite implementations.

This role is primarily focused on deep NetSuite expertise (70%), complemented by strong business understanding (30%). You will work closely with clients to design and implement scalable solutions while collaborating with leadership and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities
Functional Solution Design

  • Lead functional design and configuration across NetSuite implementations
  • Conduct discovery workshops and process mapping sessions
  • Translate business requirements into scalable system solutions
  • Ensure solutions align with NetSuite best practices and client requirements and are architected for long-term scalability, minimizing technical debt.
  • Work closely with the NetDynamic Client Partners (account executives) to translate business goals and requirements so solutions align with best practices and client needs
     

Client Engagement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients on system and process decisions, as well as NetSuite leading practices
  • Lead day-to-day client interactions and support the Client Partner with NetSuite information, and how NetSuite configurations align with and support the Client’s business objectives.
  • Create documentation, presentations, communications, and training for clients on NetSuite and ensure the Client understands the alignment between business requirements and system capabilities
     

Delivery Execution

  • Own the creation of invoice-defensible functional deliverables (BRDs, process flows, configurations), ensuring all billable hours adhere to time entry quality standards (e.g., value-driven outcomes) to ensure Client acceptance of all deliverables, protecting NDI revenue.
  • Prepare for, create testing scripts and documentation to ensure delivery is on time, within scope, and high quality
  • Oversee, guide, coach, and direct other NetDynamic Functional Resources to align with high-quality execution supporting project and managed services delivery
     

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with and work closely with NetDynamic technical, integration, and other resources on documentation creation, understanding, and technical design documentation to ensure alignment to business objectives and requirements.
  • Translate requirements into functional specifications in alignment with business objectives and ensure Client Partner approvals
  • Raise issues early and often to Client Partner for any task overruns, issues, and ensure proactive communication for all client functional delivery and across NetDynamic teams and leadership
  • Ensure end-to-end solution integrity
  • Pre-Sales Support as needed
  • Contribute to solutioning, scoping, and estimations ensuring that estimates are accurate and account for all efforts of Client Delivery including requirements gathering, scoping, meetings, project management, communications and all related activities.
  • Design, create complete agendas, lead, conduct, and contribute to client meetings, demos and workshops
     

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of NetSuite Functional Consulting experience (required)
  • Deep expertise in NetSuite modules and implementations
  • Strong understanding of business processes (finance, operations, etc.)
  • Proven ability to lead functional workstreams
  • Strong client-facing communication skills
  • High level of analytical thinking and problem-solving ability

Nice to Have

  • Background in finance, accounting, or business operations
  • CPA or accounting knowledge (nice to have, not required)
  • Experience with complex or multi-entity environments

What Success Looks Like

  • Functional designs post-UAT. Ensure 100% of all billable time entries meet the firm's quality standards (e.g., clear, value-driven memos) to prevent client disputes and safeguard revenue.
  • Proactive Scope Management: Achieve a 75%+ billable utilization rate and zero unapproved change orders or scope creep attributed to functional design ambiguity to develop, improve, and increase client relationships and trust.
  • Scalable Client Value: Achieve a 90+% success rate in keeping functional execution hours within the defined Statement of Work (SOW) caps for all managed workstreams. Regularly identify additional high-value opportunities, system optimization, and tasks that drive client value and NetDynamic revenue.
