Job Title: Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA)
Reports to: Chief Dental Officer
Organization: The Healthcare Connection (THCC)
Location: 1401 Steffan Ave. Cincinnati, OH

Our mission is to provide quality and accessible primary healthcare services through community responsive approaches that address financial, geographic, and other barriers to care for residents of northern Hamilton County and surrounding areas. THCC is proudly recognized as a Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), the highest level of recognition attainable for quality care.
We boast two primary care locations and 6 school-based health centers providing quality value-based care for over 20,000 patients. We provide services in Primary Care, Infectious Disease, Substance Use, Integrated Behavioral Health, Dental Services, Women's Health, and Pharmacy.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dental team immediately. The EFDA will perform advanced intra-oral dental procedures and provide direct support during patient care, ensuring a safe, organized, and welcoming clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients and provide four-handed support to dentists and hygienists during treatment
  • Record examination findings and treatments in patient charts
  • Expose, process, and mount dental radiographs
  • Pour and trim study models; manipulate various impression materials
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized operatories
  • Sterilize instruments and prepare treatment trays
  • Perform daily/weekly equipment maintenance
  • Manage clinic inventory and laboratory case flow
  • Place restorative materials, including amalgam and non-metallic restorations
  • Fabricate and place temporary crown and bridge restorations
  • Place dental sealants and medicaments

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Radiographer's License
  • Certified Dental Assistant credential
  • State Board EFDA Certification
  • CPR Certification
  • 2-3 years of previous experience preferred
