Tee Time @ PGN is Chicagoland's newest golf entertainment destination, located adjacent to Hickory Hills Country Club. Featuring a full-service bar & grill, Full Swing golf simulators, Toptracer driving range, and 36 holes of miniature golf, Tee Time @ PGN combines hospitality, golf and entertainment in one unique operation.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on hospitality leader ready to take the next step into a broader operational leadership position.

This position reports directly to the Regional General Manager and Ownership.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Operations is responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of Tee Time @ PGN and executing the business direction, operating standards and initiatives established by Regional Management and Ownership.

This is not a desk-management position.

The successful candidate will be highly visible throughout the operation, lead from the floor, develop employees and managers, maintain strong operating standards, control costs, drive revenue and deliver an exceptional guest experience.

We are particularly interested in successful Assistant General Managers, Restaurant Managers, Operations Managers, Food & Beverage Managers and Hospitality Managers who are ready for greater responsibility.

Golf experience is helpful, but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead all day-to-day operations of Tee Time @ PGN.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule, coach and develop employees.
  • Lead by example with a visible, hands-on management style.
  • Maintain strong restaurant and bar operating standards.
  • Manage labor, inventory, purchasing, food and beverage costs and operating expenses.
  • Monitor operating results and maintain accountability for financial performance.
  • Help drive revenue across the bar & grill, golf simulators, Toptracer driving range, miniature golf, leagues, outings and special events.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales, operations and the guest experience.
  • Develop and present recommendations to Regional Management and Ownership.
  • Execute approved company initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe and professionally operated facility.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Communicate significant operational issues, guest concerns, emergencies and policy exceptions promptly to Regional Management.
  • Build a culture of teamwork, accountability, urgency and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum five years of progressive hospitality, restaurant, entertainment or related management experience.
  • Strong food & beverage operational background.
  • Experience supervising and developing employees.
  • Understanding of labor management, inventory and operating costs.
  • P&L experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound operational judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Golf or entertainment experience is helpful but not required.
  • Nights, weekends and holidays required.
