Summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to lead the design and development of software for Linux-based embedded platforms. This role includes kernel-space programming, device driver development, bootloader integration, and deep engagement with Wi-Fi and BLE stacks across firmware, driver, and OS networking layers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as Senior Software Developer, guide the development team, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Create Conceptual, Architecture and Detail Designs.
  • Work with product managers to translate user requirements into technical specifications.
  • Mentors junior engineers, conducts code reviews, and provides constructive feedback.
  • Identifies bottlenecks and improves software development methodologies.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (Computing or Engineering) with professional software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python for embedded applications.
  • Strong hands-on experience with kernel space programming, Linux device driver development, and U-Boot bootloader integration and debugging.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and BLE, including debugging across drivers, firmware, and Linux kernel networking stack.
  • Strong experience with system-level debugging across firmware, kernel, and application layers.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Yocto Project and embedded Linux build systems.
  • Experience with Wi-Fi performance tuning, interoperability troubleshooting, and regulatory certification support.
  • Experience with building automation products.

Work Location: In-office environment that is currently 3 days per week

Salary: 100,000 - 125,000 CAD
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
