Fulltime Software Developers are professionals who design, build, test, and maintain software applications as their primary occupation. They work for companies or organizations on a standard full-time schedule, typically 40 hours per week. Their responsibilities can include writing code, troubleshooting issues, collaborating with other team members, and staying updated with new technologies. Fulltime roles often provide benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fulltime software developer?

To thrive as a Fulltime Software Developer, you need proficiency in programming languages (such as Java, Python, or JavaScript), problem-solving abilities, and typically a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with development frameworks, version control systems like Git, and experience with tools such as IDEs and CI/CD pipelines are commonly required. Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability are crucial soft skills that help developers collaborate effectively and respond to changing project needs. Job description

Do you have experience writing code in Java? Do you love Linux? Have you built and used automated build pipelines? Have you worked on a small team previously and worn a few hats? We need your talents and experience as a Senior Software Engineer on our Space Systems team.
You will join a team of engineers on a program that provides customers with scalable data processing enabling real-time situational awareness in support of the warfighter. You will have the opportunity to build upon and modernize existing software capabilities. Tired of learning a new program every 6 months? Our position provides stable work for a long-time customer.
When you become a member of our team, you will work across multiple disciplines and collaborate with our Systems, Hardware, and Test Engineers to impact all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle. At BAE Systems, we promote a strong, collaborative culture and provide our employees with the tools, skills and training they need to succeed. We offer a flexible work environment and multiple options for work schedules (9/80, 4/10, and others). Our company is part of the community and driven to improve our future and protect our freedom.
If you have worked previously in a secure environment, consider yourself a rockstar teammate, and enjoy contributing to a mission that matters, we'd love to meet you!
Job Responsibilities
• Agile software design, development, test, deployment, and documentation of features and fixes in ongoing releases of fielded software
• Collaborate with a small multi-discipline team of engineers
• Work closely with program subject matter experts to learn the code base and identify portions for which to take ownership
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site.
Due to the importance, this position offers a Sign-On Bonus. (Note: Current BAE Systems employees are ineligible for sign-on bonuses.)
Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.
