Purpose and Objective:
SAP America, Inc. seeks a Developer at our Newtown Square, PA location to transform SAP business software products by building highly scalable microservices.
Expectations and Tasks:
Operate in a dev-ops model with latest open source technologies like Kubernetes and Service Mesh. Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms. Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies for iterative development and continuous delivery. Ensure robust testing practices across all development phases. Design and maintain automated build and deployment processes. Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards and best practices. Collaborate with operations teams for incident response and root cause analysis. Design and implement data pipelines that transform raw configuration data into business intelligence. Integrate enterprise-grade AI capabilities into configuration services. Design efficient data models and optimize database performance.
Education and Occupational Experience:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or a related field of study and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:
Experience must include three (3) years involving each of the following:
  • Designing and implementing REST microservices using Java and Spring boot;
  • AWS RDS for relational databases and AWS DynamoDB for NoSQL databases;
  • Gradle, AWS CloudFormation and AWS CodeBuild for build and release pipelines;
  • Docker, Helm and Kubernetes for production deployments;
  • Performance tuning of SQL (queries, indexes, and execution plans) for Microsoft SQL Server;
  • ASP.NET(C#) and JavaScript for application development; and
  • JUnit, JMeter and SonarQube for test automation and code quality analysis.

Experience must include one (1) year involving each of the following:
  • Using Kibana and Dynatrace for application and infrastructure monitoring;
  • AWS S3, AWS Glue and AWS Athena for generating actionable insights; and
  • Deploying and using SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and services, specifically SAP AI Core and SAP Anonymization Service.

SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $130,150 - $198,500. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
