Early Engineer, Full-Stack (San Francisco)

Multiply

San Francisco, CA • On-site

Full-time

Job description

About Multiply
Multiply is a fast-growing AI startup that helps B2B companies scale paid ads and get discovered by their dream customers. Traditional ads campaigns decay over time. Multiply builds self-learning growth ads that continuously improve performance by combining AI with expert operators.
We are 13 people today. You would be #14.
Role Description
We're looking for an AI-native engineer who doesn't just write code - but uses AI as a core part of how they build, think, and ship. As an early engineer, you'll help shape our product and have an important voice in decisions regarding the technical stack, direction, and vision.
This is a full-time Software Engineering role. The current team is in San Francisco, and this role is in person at Multiply HQ.
We work hard and we know we're building a generational company. If you're looking for the ride of a lifetime, this might just be what you're looking for.
What you'll do
  • Build 0 → 1 product features quickly and iterate based on real customer feedback
  • Design and ship systems that embed LLMs and AI agents into core workflows
  • Orchestrate multi-step AI systems (agents, evals, feedback loops, etc.)
  • Own features end-to-end: idea → build → deploy → iterate
  • Work directly with founders on product, roadmap, and technical direction
  • Help improve our engineering culture, tooling, and velocity
  • Play a key role in building and mentoring the early team

What We Mean by "AI-Native"
You should already be using tools like: Cursor, Claude Code, Codex / OpenAI APIs or similar AI-assisted development workflows, as a core part of how you build software, not as an afterthought.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years experience building software with a strong track record and ability to work full-stack
  • Startup mindset - resourceful, sharp, and entrepreneurial, who is excited to take early ownership
  • Love to move fast, to learn, and to always-be-improving
  • Experience using LLMs in production and interest in staying at the cutting edge of AI
  • Experience in designing and building scalable systems. Knowledge of modern software engineering practices and frameworks
  • You care deeply about users and love shipping polished, impactful work
  • Strong product intuition - you think beyond the code
