Imagine Staffing is recruiting for a Solutions Architect (Infrastructure) on behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Buffalo, NY, serving individuals, businesses, and communities across the eastern United States. Known for its strong regional presence, commitment to community engagement, and focus on long-term customer relationships, the organization offers a stable and collaborative work environment with opportunities for growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for acting as the solution architecture extension of Enterprise Architect – Infrastructure, translating enterprise conceptual, logical, and high-level physical infrastructure designs into detailed physical design guidance for hybrid environments spanning Azure cloud and co-location data centers. Guides and supports engineering teams in delivering infrastructure solutions aligned with EA-defined architecture standards, hybrid patterns, and cloud strategy, ensuring consistency across platforms and workloads, including AI and digital services.

  • Provides architecture guidance for hybrid infrastructure design, including cloud/on-prem integration, connectivity, and workload placement strategies.
  • Scalability and performance optimization, ensuring infrastructure can support dynamic workloads and growth.
  • Resilience and reliability patterns, including high availability, failovers, and disaster recovery aligned with SRE principles.
  • Networking and platform integration, ensuring secure, performant connectivity across distributed environments.
  • Cost efficiency and capacity management, aligned with enterprise FinOps and infrastructure optimization strategies Supports the adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including SLIs/SLOs and reliability design considerations.
  • Observability, monitoring, and telemetry integration.
  • Automation and infrastructure-as-code patterns.
  • Operational readiness and recoverability frameworks Partners with engineering teams throughout the SDLC—from design through production, providing design oversight, guiding implementation decisions, and ensuring adherence to enterprise standards for scalability, resilience, security, and operability.
  • Collaborates closely with EA, platform engineering, and SRE teams to ensure consistent adoption of enterprise infrastructure patterns, while feeding implementation insights back into continuous improvement of architecture standards.
Skills & Experience
Qualifications That Will Help You Thrive
  • Bachelors degree and 7 years of relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 year's higher education and/or relevant work experience
  • 7 or more years of experience in developing and integrating applications using relevant software architecture principles and patterns
  • Working knowledge of architectural frameworks
  • Working knowledge of enterprise architecture tools
  • Work experience in software engineering, software delivery and/or solution architecture
Ideal qualifications preferred:
  • Graduate degree in business or technical discipline
  • Certification and experience working with Cloud technologies and vendors
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Certification in enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Experience working in the financial services industry
  • Experience working in two or more technical roles related to banking technical design and roadmap planning
