Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team in Fort Mitchell, KY. The RBT will provide direct client services by implementing individualized behavior support plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role requires a strong commitment to client safety, data collection, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to promote client progress and independence.
Job Responsibilities
  • Direct Client Service
  • Implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming and strategies as prescribed by each clientโ€™s individualized Behavior Supports Plan of Care and under ongoing BCBA supervision.
  • Respond appropriately and intervene on client challenging behaviors as outlined in the Behavior Supports Plan, ensuring safety of all parties involved.
  • Perform crisis intervention procedures when necessary and as trained, promptly informing supervisors of all crisis incidents.
  • Engage in client-directed play, consistent pairing, age-appropriate activities, and interventions that promote client independence during sessions.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for every client.
  • Prepare all necessary materials (e.g., data sheets, behavior intervention plans, clientโ€™s preferred play materials) in the treatment room prior to each session.
  • Sanitize and return all materials and reset the treatment room following each session.
  • Accurately record behavior and skill acquisition data to support assessment of intervention effectiveness and progress toward goals.
  • Participate in the development of each clientโ€™s individual Behavior Supports Plan of Care and associated intervention strategies.
  • Communicate routinely with BCBA regarding programming questions, support or training needs, and novel behaviors observed.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with relevant stakeholders (e.g., caregivers, teachers) before and after each session.
Administrative amp; Team Responsibilities
  • Participate as an active member of the treatment team for each clientโ€™s individualized plan of care.
  • Work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary therapy team and incorporate ongoing feedback into daily operations.
  • Complete all necessary documentation (e.g., treatment notes, data monitoring sheets, incident reports) in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all session data is input electronically into each clientโ€™s file by the end of each workday.
  • Prepare for and participate in 1:1 supervision meetings and professional development meetings with BCBA.
  • Attend all required trainings and staff meetings.
  • Use non-billable time effectively to complete BCBA-assigned tasks, create client materials, and assist other therapy team members.
  • Quality Assurance and Effectiveness
  • Collaborate with BCBA and other treatment team members to adjust treatment programming and intervention strategies as needed to maximize client progress.
  • Identify professional development goals, training needs, strengths, and growth opportunities.
  • Adhere to all professional, legal, and ethical requirements of the profession, including the RBT Ethics Code.
  • Maintain RBT certification and meet professional development requirements for re-certification.
  • Apply all feedback provided by BCBA during ongoing supervision.
  • Participate in quarterly quality assurance checks with BCBA.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
  • Experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed treatment plans and collect accurate data.
  • Commitment to professional ethics and ongoing development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
