Position: Full Time Radiologic Technologist RT(R )

Department: Columbiana, OH

PURPOSE

The primary purpose of your job position as a Staff Radiographer is to perform assigned duties in an effective manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as directed by your supervisor to assure that a successful viable department is maintained at all times.

Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis.   Must care for a patient population which includes adolescents and geriatrics; therefore, must be able to identify the special needs of each patient according to age and respond appropriately.    Performs other job related duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Verification of successful graduation from an AMA accredited radiography program and certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Verification of Ohio State Radiological License.
  • General orientation and safety programs must be completed.
  • Technologist should be able to reach full productivity in 60 working days.
  • Has complete understanding of all common radiographic procedures, sterile techniques and some knowledge of nursing skills.
  • Should possess basic knowledge of how an Imaging Center functions.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology is required.
  • Has complete understanding of image processing and clerical procedures.
  • Must be able to work with long term and acute care patients.
  • Must be able to function effectively and efficiently in emergencies.
  • Must be able to make quick decisions when necessary.
