This is a full-time position requiring weekend availability.

SUMMARY:
Experienced Technician (3+ Years minimum of maintenance required) :
The ability to analyze problems, identify courses of action and implement solutions. This individual has the skill set to perform all Tech III duties while developing a mechanical approach to the property. This maintenance technician has the ability, or is gaining the knowledge to perform tasks including; mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, plumbing experience, preventative maintenance on equipment, building mechanical rounds, kitchen equipment repairs, understands the safety equipment, shows ability to share knowledge of skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ability to learn new tasks
  • Ability to learn all hotel standards, policies and procedures
  • Carry out specific oral and written instructions
  • Toilet repairs
  • Tub/shower repairs
  • Hardware repairs or carpentry skills
  • Drywall, paint, wallpaper repairs
  • Usage of heavy equipment and lifts
  • Ladder and Fall Protection
  • Understand electrical multimeter for troubleshooting low/high voltage and controls
  • Knowledge of plumbing, soldering, Pro-press, drain snaking, PVC, CPVC, PEX, and pipe threading
  • Welding
  • Change/replace lightbulbs
  • Change/replace ceiling tiles
  • Understand, operate, troubleshoot advanced electrical, plumbing and refrigeration
  • Possible pool operator
  • Possible knowledge of mechanical pump repair
  • Possible knowledge of domestic, non-domestic, chilled, heat, and snowmelt water loops.
  • Basic Knowledge of AHU, MAU, Exhaust, Cooling Towers, Chillers, Boilers, Exchangers, and Steam
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdowns
  • Working knowledge of, but not limited to; kitchen equipment, BMS, mechanical PM, and life safety equipment
  • Ability to read, log, track and interpret readings from meters, gauges and other measuring units
  • Provide training and technical advice to other engineers when needed or requested
  • Clean, protect, secure and maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel
  • Ability to maintain a daily log of activities to communicate to other shifts
  • Ability to clean all engineering areas as directed by Engineering Management
  • Ability to work in a neat and efficient manner, keeping all work areas clean and organized
  • Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional manner
  • Maintain a professional image at all times
  • Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Provide a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures
  • Perform duties assigned by Engineering Management
  • Report to work on time in a full Engineering uniform

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Valid drivers license
  • Universal EPA 608 certification is preferred
  • Michigan Boiler operator license is preferred
  • Michigan Mechanical contractor license is preferred
  • Journeyman/master Electrical license is preferred
  • Michigan Journeyman or Master plumber license is preferred
  • CPO certification is preferred

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent years of relevant work experience required
  • Two (2) yeas of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, HVAC/R, and/or technical disciplines is preferred
  • 3+ years previous experience in maintenance/facilities/trades experience
  • Previous hotel maintenance experience preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the associate frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The associate occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
