Job description

Company:

BHHIC Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Insurance Company

As a member of the Berkshire Hathaway group of insurance companies, we offer outstanding opportunities for professionals interested in working with a successful company. We offer unparalleled financial strength, stability and "large company" benefits, in addition to an exciting, friendly, "small company" atmosphere.

The Insurance Agent at Milepost Insurance Agency LLC delivers exceptional customer experiences by helping prospective and current policyholders navigate their insurance needs. This role is responsible for selling new policies through inbound calls, assisting customers with coverage questions, explaining insurance options in a clear and understandable way, and providing ongoing support throughout the customer journey. The Insurance Agent works in a fast-paced, high-volume call center environment and contributes to a collaborative, team-focused culture centered on trust, service, and customer success.

This position is based in Omaha, NE, with a hybrid work structure following training (50% in-office, including designated team days). Training is conducted 100% in-office. A dedicated, distraction-free home workspace is required for remote work days. This position is salaried (no commission) and is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship.

What will you do?

  • Sell new insurance policies through inbound customer calls-no cold calling required.
  • Guide customers through coverage options and recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
  • Explain insurance products and policy details in a clear, easy-to-understand manner.
  • Provide outstanding service by answering policyholder questions and resolving concerns.
  • Manage a high volume of calls while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Utilize multiple systems to document interactions, process requests, and update policy information.
  • Support customers throughout the quoting, purchase, and policy service experience.
  • Maintain compliance with agency procedures, licensing requirements, and customer privacy standards.
  • Collaborate with teammates to deliver exceptional customer experiences and achieve service goals.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to expand insurance knowledge and skills.

What are we looking for?

  • Property & Casualty license strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of two years relevant work experience OR a minimum of two years post-secondary education.
  • Solid computer and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced, high-volume call center environment.

Someone who may excel in this role:

  • Enjoys helping customers and building trust.
  • Communicates complex information clearly and simply.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrates empathy, patience, and strong listening skills.
  • Is comfortable guiding customers through coverage and purchase decisions.
  • Multitasks effectively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Adapts quickly to feedback, change, and new information.
  • Balances independent work with strong teamwork and collaboration.
  • Stays organized and manages competing priorities effectively.
  • Is motivated by delivering exceptional customer experiences.
A comprehensive benefits package is available for regular, full-time employees, including health, vision, dental, life and disability insurance as well as a 401(k) with company match. We also proudly offer 100% upfront tuition reimbursement to regular, full-time employees, to further your education. Our Omaha office boasts a complimentary state-of-the-art, on-site gym, a robust wellness program, low-cost downtown parking, and numerous volunteer and networking opportunities with other emerging professionals.
