Job description

We are seeking motivated and reliable General Laborers to join our underground utility construction team. This role involves supporting or operating horizontal directional drilling equipment to install underground fiber optic. A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a strong plus and may lead to expanded responsibilities and higher compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with or operate HDD equipment including drill rigs, mud systems, and locating systems
Set up and break down drilling equipment at job sites
Read and interpret utility maps and blueprints
Perform potholing and trenching as needed to expose existing utilities
Mix and monitor drilling fluids and ensure proper disposal
Maintain clean and safe job sites in compliance with OSHA and company standards
Load, transport, and unload equipment and materials
Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and utility locators
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment. Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE. Completes other duties and projects, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in HDD or underground utility construction preferred
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Valid driver’s license required
CDL (Class A or B) strongly preferred
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
Knowledge of Ditch Witch, Vermeer, or similar HDD equipment
Ability to travel to various job sites as needed
Preferred Skills :
Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Experience with utility locating equipment, OSHA 10 or 30 certification and First Aid/CPR certification
