CNC Programmer

Location: Near Boston, MA (Onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Relocation: Local candidates preferred; candidates willing to relocate will also be considered.

Position Overview

The CNC Programmer will be responsible for programming and optimizing CNC equipment used in sheet metal fabrication, including laser cutting and punch machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong CAD and blueprint-reading skills, experience with nesting software, and a solid understanding of factory-floor manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain CNC programs for sheet metal fabrication equipment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs.
  • Utilize nesting software to maximize material efficiency and production output.
  • Program and support laser cutting and punch press operations.
  • Collaborate with production and manufacturing teams to improve workflow and machine performance.
  • Troubleshoot programming and manufacturing issues on the factory floor.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency in all programming activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience.
  • Strong background in CAD, blueprint reading, and design interpretation.
  • Experience with nesting software (e.g., SigmaNEST, TruTops, BySoft, RADAN, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication environments.
  • Experience programming and supporting laser cutting equipment.
  • Experience working with sheet metal punch equipment.
  • Strong understanding of factory-floor operations and machine principles.
  • Ability to handle and move sheet metal materials weighing up to 50–75 lbs as needed.
