Piper Companies is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join a very profitable insurance organization. This is a full-time position offering hybrid flexibility out of Frederick, MD. Essential Duties of theSoftware Engineering Manager: * Lead the development and implementation of digital platforms using microservices, cloud technologies, AI/ML, and DevOps principles.
* Lead and guide the scrum team to ensure the delivery of solutions.
* Build, mentor, and retain a team of high-performing Software Engineers and QA Analysts.
* Promote innovation and transformation by seeking out opportunities to improve processes and platforms.
Qualifications of theSoftware Engineering Manager: * 5+ years of professional experience developing web applications
* 2+ years of experience in people management/leadership positions (teams of 3+)
* Experience in Agile environments.
* Experience with Java or .NET on the backend
* Experience in insurance or FinTech preferred, but not required.
Compensation for theSoftware Engineering Manager: * $120,000 - $160,000 (based on experience) with 20% annual bonus eligibility
* 2 remote days per week
* 20 PTO days, 10 sick days, 13 paid holidays
