Avento Health has partnered with a nonprofit organization serving individuals with developmental and related disabilities to identify a Board Certified Behavior Analyst for a full-time opportunity in the Springfield, Illinois area.


This role is a strong fit for a BCBA who wants meaningful, hands-on clinical work without a set minimum billable hour requirement. The BCBA will support individuals in residential, home, and community-based settings while collaborating with direct care staff, guardians, internal teams, and outside providers.

About the Role

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst will develop, update, and oversee Behavior Support Programs and related clinical documentation for individuals receiving services in residential and community-based environments.

This is a field-based clinical role that involves direct observation, behavioral assessment, staff guidance, intervention planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The BCBA will help ensure behavior support strategies are clinically appropriate, clearly documented, consistently implemented, and aligned with each individual’s needs.

The role is ideal for a BCBA who enjoys applied, real-world behavior support outside of a traditional clinic model and values collaboration, practical problem-solving, and person-centered care.


Responsibilities

Develop, update, and oversee Behavior Support Programs and related clinical documentation

Complete behavioral assessments, functional behavior analyses, risk assessments, and monthly notes

Provide behavior support planning, intervention recommendations, and individualized strategies

Train and support direct care staff on behavior intervention strategies and individualized plans

Provide supervision and behavioral guidance aligned with BCBA standards

Monitor implementation quality, documentation accuracy, and opportunities for retraining

Collaborate with internal teams, guardians, direct support staff, residential staff, and outside providers

Support individuals in residential, home, community, and other client environments as needed

Respond to phone-based on-call needs as required

Maintain strong documentation and communication with all relevant parties


Required Qualifications

Active BCBA certification through the BACB

Ability to provide supervision

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community-based work
