Job description

Lead DAS Technician III - National Team (100% Travel)
Communication Technology Services (CTS) is one of the nation's leading integrators and managed service providers for enterprise wireless networks. We specialize in the design, installation, commissioning, and support of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Small Cell, and Private 4G/5G Wireless Networks for some of the largest commercial and public venues across the United States.
We are seeking an experienced Lead DAS Technician III to join our National Team. This is a 100% travel position, supporting projects nationwide. If you're an experienced DAS professional who enjoys traveling, leading crews, and working on high-profile wireless deployments, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
As the Lead DAS Technician, you'll serve as the on-site leader responsible for delivering quality installations safely, on schedule, and to CTS standards. You'll work closely with the Field Manager and Project Manager while leading CTS technicians and subcontractors throughout all phases of installation.
Responsibilities
  • Lead installation crews on DAS, Small Cell, and Private Wireless projects across the United States.
  • Travel full-time (100%) to customer sites nationwide.
  • Supervise, mentor, and direct technicians and apprentices during all phases of installation.
  • Ensure installations meet CTS quality, safety, and customer standards.
  • Manage daily project progress and communicate status to Field Managers and Project Managers.
  • Coordinate material handling, inventory, and job site organization.
  • Perform and document site walks for small venues and retail locations.
  • Read and interpret iBwave design documentation and installation drawings.
  • Install, terminate, and test coaxial and fiber optic cabling.
  • Perform fusion splicing and fiber optic testing.
  • Conduct PIM and Sweep testing using Anritsu Site Master and other RF test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot DAS systems and assist with system verification.
  • Collect documentation, photos, and closeout information.
  • Complete and approve daily timesheets as required.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, customer, and CTS safety requirements.

Qualifications
Required
  • 2-5+ years of DAS installation experience or equivalent wireless infrastructure experience.
  • Experience leading installation crews in commercial wireless environments.
  • Strong knowledge of coaxial cable installation and termination.
  • Experience pulling, terminating, and testing fiber optic cable.
  • Experience performing PIM and Sweep testing.
  • Working knowledge of Anritsu Site Master and related RF test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret iBwave design documentation.
  • Understanding of RF frequencies, wireless technologies, and DAS components.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and installation best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform the physical demands of the position.

Preferred
  • Experience supporting DAS commissioning, system integration, or network acceptance testing.
  • Exposure to commissioning, optimization, or system tuning activities.
  • Experience working on Enterprise, Public Safety, or Carrier DAS projects.
  • Fiber fusion splicing certification or equivalent experience.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
  • Thrives in a travel-intensive environment.
  • Takes pride in delivering high-quality installations.
  • Leads by example and enjoys mentoring junior technicians.
  • Communicates effectively with customers, project teams, and field leadership.
  • Can adapt quickly to new environments and project requirements.
  • Is committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
