Credence is seeking a highly skilled Windows Systems Administrator with Linux and DevOps experience to support the Enterprise Sourcing, Medical and Contingency (ESMC) Portfolio Hosting Support Contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, automation, and optimization of enterprise hosting environments supporting mission-critical applications and services.
This role requires a professional who is equally comfortable managing Windows-based infrastructure, supporting Linux systems, and implementing modern DevOps practices to improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency. The position is a hybrid role, requiring on-site support at Credence Headquarters in McLean, Virginia, three days per week.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to ...
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and related services
  • Support and manage Linux servers (Red Hat, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, or similar distributions) in enterprise environments
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal operation of hosted applications and services
  • Implement, maintain, and improve infrastructure automation using scripting and configuration management tools
  • Support DevOps initiatives, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, automated deployments, and system monitoring
  • Collaborate with developers, cybersecurity personnel, network engineers, and program stakeholders to support hosting requirements
  • Perform routine system patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and security hardening activities
  • Manage virtualized environments utilizing VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud-based platforms
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and system diagrams
  • Support backup, recovery, continuity of operations, and disaster recovery activities
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies, government regulations, and applicable standards

Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience administering Windows Server environments in an enterprise setting
  • Experience supporting Linux operating systems in production environments
  • Experience with PowerShell and at least one additional scripting language such as Bash or Python
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Experience implementing or supporting DevOps tools and practices
  • Familiarity with source control systems such as Git
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and firewall concepts
  • Experience with system monitoring, logging, and performance management tools
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal government or Department of Defense (DoD) environments
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), NIST frameworks, and cybersecurity best practices
