GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Senior Human Resources Generalist conducts recruitment activities, coordinates benefits enrollments, conducts new hire orientations, maintains employee files and other related compliance tasks, involved with employee relations and assists the Human Resources Director with various administrative needs and projects as needed.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
โ€ข Conducts recruitment efforts assuring qualified employees are recruited and hired in a timely manner. Activities include working with hiring managers on job descriptions, job postings, arranging job fairs, arranging and conducting interviews, conferring with hiring managers to ensure a thorough understanding of the staffing levels needed, pre-employment hiring process and other related responsibilities as assigned by Human Resource Director.
โ€ข Conducts New Hire Orientations that foster a positive first impression of the company.
โ€ข In partnership with HR staff members, coordinates employee activities which may include quarterly employee recognition events, holiday party and other employee activities.
โ€ข Conducts exit interviews for front line employees and provides feedback to Human Resources Director, department head and Administrator/ED as appropriate. Handles termination process including requesting final check and all related required paperwork.
โ€ข Assists managers with employee relations issues with employees through effective communication and adherence to company policies and procedures and keeps the Human Resource Director informed. Escalates employee relations issues with supervisors and above to the Human Resource Director. Fosters positive communications and interactions between all staff.
โ€ข Acting HR point-person with managers in the absence of Human Resources Director.
โ€ข Assists with the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures, projects and reports as needed. Works closely with director and other HR staff members on projects.
โ€ข Coordinates benefits enrollment activities, processes enrollment forms and updates HRIS as appropriate. Point of contact for employee benefit questions. Completes various projects related to benefits.
โ€ข Oversees, maintains and coordinates employee files and HRIS functions. This includes training, coordination of coverage and communicating changes and updates with payroll.
โ€ข Conducts Leave of Absence and Workers Compensation processes at assigned location, logs each leave and claim on tracking sheet, keeps Human Resource Director informed on statuses/updates.
โ€ข Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
โ€ข Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
โ€ข Associates or Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field is required.
โ€ข Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience in benefits, employee relations, recruiting and knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources management.
โ€ข Professional Human Resource (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resource (SPHR) certification preferred.
โ€ข The ability to handle multiple projects and work in a fast paced environment while remaining calm and positive under pressure at all times.
โ€ข Ability to effectively work with residents, managers and employees at all levels and continue to develop and maintain a positive relationship and productive culture.
โ€ข Must have excellent attention to detail, use good judgment, prioritization skills and be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manager.
โ€ข Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and private data.
โ€ข Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of MS Office programs to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
โ€ข Demonstrated initiative, multitasking and leadership skills.
โ€ข Must display a friendly, courteous and helpful attitude toward the residents, other employees, and the public.
