Position Overview One of our Partners in South Carolina is seeking full-time locum tenens OB/GYN coverage beginning June. This assignment combines outpatient clinic coverage with 24/7 second-call pager responsibilities in a rural community hospital supported by midwives who take first call. This role offers Top ~15% OB/GYN locum provider pay in South Carolina (2026 market data) based on provider compensation, with a straightforward hourly rate for all worked time. Assignment Highlights

Skills & Experience
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Active South Carolina medical license

  • DEA that can remain permanently registered in South Carolina
  • Comfortable with:
    • Vaginal deliveries
    • Cesarean sections
    • Independent practice in a rural facility
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide outpatient OB/GYN clinic coverage 2-3 days per week
  • Carry 24/7 second-call pager coverage
  • Respond to pager notifications and report onsite when required
  • Manage labor and delivery coverage (average ~1 delivery/day)
  • See 20-25 clinic patients per day on average
  • Collaborate with midwives providing first call
  • Document care accurately in Epic EMR
  • Follow hospital clinical protocols and patient safety standards
Clinic Schedule
  • Monday-Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Clinic coverage required 2-3 days per week
Coverage Structure Options McLeod Clarendon is flexible and open to multiple coverage models, including:
  • Monday 7:00 AM - Monday 7:00 AM blocks, or
  • Split coverage, with weekday clinic + pager call and separate weekend coverage
Multiple providers may be utilized to ensure full coverage.
