Job description

About the Role
Reports To: Directly to Landscape Superintendent/Indirectly to Director of Grounds
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Landscape Foreman to lead daily landscape maintenance and installation work. This position is responsible for supervising crew members, organizing job-site tasks, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a landscape crew on daily maintenance, installation, and enhancement projects.
  • Assign tasks, provide direction, and ensure crew members follow job-site expectations.
  • Perform and oversee mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, pruning, planting, mulching, irrigation checks, and general landscape upkeep.
  • Read work orders, understand project requirements, and communicate needed materials, equipment, or schedule concerns.
  • Operate and maintain landscape equipment safely and properly.
  • Monitor quality of work and ensure finished jobs meet company and customer standards.
  • Promote a safe work environment by following and enforcing safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Train and support crew members in proper landscape techniques, equipment use, and professional conduct.
  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, customers, vendors, and team members.
  • Track daily progress, report completed work and communicate any issues or delays promptly.

Qualifications
  • Previous landscape maintenance, installation, or grounds experience required.
  • Prior crew leadership, foreman, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape tools, equipment, plants, turf care, and basic irrigation practices.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding work.
  • Irrigation repair work would be helpful but not required.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks during the workday.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead by example.
  • Valid driver's license preferred; clean driving record may be required.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and safely operate common landscape equipment.
Schedule and Compensation
This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 5:30am to 4pm, Thursday and Friday - 5:30am to noon, Saturday and Sunday 5:30am - 10am (every other weekend). Compensation is based on experience and qualifications with the hourly rate ranging from $19 to $24 per hour based on experience.
