Full Time Water Rights Attorney information

Is $900 an hour a lot for a lawyer?

For a full-time water rights attorney, an hourly rate of $900 is considered very high and is typically associated with highly specialized or experienced lawyers in niche areas. Most attorneys charge significantly less, often between $200 and $500 per hour, depending on experience, location, and complexity of the case. Such rates are more common for top-tier or highly specialized legal professionals rather than standard practice.

What is the difference between Full Time Water Rights Attorney vs Water Rights Paralegal?

AspectFull Time Water Rights AttorneyWater Rights Paralegal
CredentialsJuris Doctor (JD), State Bar AdmissionAssociate's degree or paralegal certification
Work EnvironmentLegal firms, government agencies, private practiceLaw firms, legal departments, government offices
ResponsibilitiesLegal analysis, court representation, legal strategyLegal research, document preparation, case management

Full Time Water Rights Attorneys hold law degrees, are licensed to practice law, and handle legal matters related to water rights, including court cases. Water Rights Paralegals support attorneys with research and documentation but do not practice law or represent clients. Both roles work in legal environments focused on water rights, but attorneys have broader responsibilities and legal authority.

How to make 500,000 as a lawyer?

A full-time water rights attorney can earn $500,000 by gaining specialized expertise in water law, building a strong client base, and working in regions with high-value water rights transactions. High earnings often come from complex cases, consulting, or working at large firms with premium billing rates.

Do lawyers make $500,000 a year?

Full-time water rights attorneys typically do not earn $500,000 annually; such high salaries are uncommon and usually reserved for top partners at large law firms or those with extensive experience and specialized expertise. Most attorneys in this field earn a median salary that is significantly lower, often between $70,000 and $150,000 per year. Factors like location, firm size, and years of practice influence earnings.

How to become a water lawyer?

To become a water lawyer, one typically needs to earn a bachelor's degree followed by a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Specializing in environmental or water law through coursework, internships, or certifications can enhance expertise, and passing the state bar exam is required to practice law in that jurisdiction.

Job description

About the Opportunity

We are expanding our civil litigation team and are hiring Arizona-licensed attorneys. This is an opportunity for attorneys who want to litigate, not spectate — you will handle real hearings, draft substantive motions, work directly with clients, and build a portfolio of meaningful litigation experience early in your career.

Whether you have a few years of practice or are newly barred, this role offers an accelerated path to becoming a seasoned litigator.

What Makes This Role Stand Out

*** Immediate courtroom and motion practice — real hearings, real cases, real responsibility

*** Fast-paced litigation development — learn dispositive motions, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, trial skills

*** Mentorship that actually accelerates your growth — hands-on training and continuous feedback

*** Structured workflow & autonomy — we don’t micromanage; we train you, trust you, and let you take ownership

*** A collaborative team culture — motivated litigators who help each other win

*** Career growth built in — strong performers advance quickly and take on leadership roles

*** Substantive writing practice — MSJs, MTDs, discovery motions, evidentiary workups, and more

*** Litigation experience that builds a real career — not back-office work, not doc review

If you want to be a confident, capable litigator within your first few years, this is the job.
