Job Purpose

The System Administrator is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and securing the company's IT infrastructure to ensure optimal system reliability, performance, and security. This role manages servers, storage, network equipment, virtualization platforms, and cloud services, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term technology initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic planning, strong security awareness, and effective cross-team collaboration to drive continuous improvement across the organization's IT environment.

Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Management: Configure, monitor, and maintain servers, storage, and virtualization platforms (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V) to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and manage firewalls, endpoint protection, patch management, and access controls; conduct vulnerability assessments and support zero-trust and compliance initiatives.

  • Monitoring & Incident Response: Continuously monitor network traffic, system logs, and security alerts to identify and resolve anomalies or potential threats promptly.

  • Business Continuity & Documentation: Lead disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, systems, and procedures.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams on infrastructure lifecycle planning, upgrades, migrations, and cloud cost optimization initiatives.

Requirements
  • Experience & Education: Three to five years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Business Administration, or five to seven years of equivalent experience without a degree.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless technologies, with hands-on experience managing enterprise network environments.

  • Virtualization Skills: Proven experience with VMware, including deployment, configuration, and performance optimization.

  • Network Design & Documentation: Ability to create and maintain detailed network diagrams and topology maps.

  • Security Proficiency: Demonstrated experience securing networks and infrastructure through firewall design, network segmentation, and the use of cloud security tools, including Microsoft 365 and Azure AD.
