Description
WinnMed is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Lab Technician to join our Laboratory Services team! The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) performs a wide range of diagnostic testing to support the timely diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role is responsible for the accurate interpretation and reporting of laboratory results. The MLS demonstrates a high degree of independent judgment, performs advanced troubleshooting and maintenance, and provides guidance and instruction to other staff. Strong organizational skills, prioritization, and attention to detail are critical to ensure accuracy, reliability, and efficiency in all laboratory processes. Full time, 40 hours per week.
Resonsibilities include:
  • Conduct and analyze laboratory testing with accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure proper specimen collection, handling, and validation
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
  • Adhere to quality, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Support team collaboration, training, and continuous improvement

Requirements
  • Completion of a Medical/ Clinical Laboratory Science program or equivalent
  • Certification by a registry board (ASCP, AMT or equivalent) as MLS or MLT
  • BLS certification required
  • Previous medical technologist experience preferred
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize test requests required
  • High degree of accuracy and reliability required
