Compensation: $85,000–$110,000 (based on skills and experience)

Reports to: Chief Program Officer

Position Summary

The Vasculitis Foundation (VF) is seeking a creative, forward-thinking Director of Multimedia Content to lead and evolve our multimedia content strategy across all channels and audiences. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new role, bringing fresh vision to a robust webinar program, launching new content formats like podcasts and short-form video, and building a cross-platform multimedia strategy that reflects how our patients, clinicians, and broader community learn and connect. This role is designed to attract professionals with experience in video, podcast, webinar production, and digital content strategy.

Sitting within the VF’s Education team and reporting to the Chief Program Officer, this role works cross-functionally with Marketing & Communications and Development. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable producing a 35-minute medical education webinar or 90-second social media clip, and understands how to reach vasculitis patients, physicians, researchers, and donors through the same platform ecosystem.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Multimedia Strategy & Program Development

  • Develop and lead VF’s multimedia content strategy, encompassing webinars, podcasts, short-form video, social media content, and emerging formats
  • Demonstrate excellence in project management by establishing clear workflows, setting realistic timelines, and keeping projects on track
  • Collect and analyze audience feedback, demographics, engagement metrics, and content performance data to evaluate impact, optimize reach, and inform multimedia content, platform, and format decisions across VF's diverse stakeholder audiences
  • Track emerging digital trends, platforms, and technologies and bring forward-looking recommendations to leadership
  • Collaborate with the team to develop audience surveys and feedback mechanisms to continually evaluate and refine VF’s multimedia approach
  • Contribute to VF’s evolving organizational philosophy around AI as it applies to content creation, distribution, and digital engagement

Webinar Program

  • Oversee the end-to-end production of VF’s webinar program, from topic development and speaker coordination through recording, editing, distribution and tracking key metrics
  • Manage webinar platforms and associated tools, ensuring a seamless experience for both presenters and registrants
  • Develop partnerships with physicians, medical specialists, patient advocates, and other subject matter experts to develop relevant, high-quality educational content

Content Production & Editing

  • Oversee and contribute to the production and video editing of content across formats, from full-length educational recordings to short awareness snippets and social media assets
  • Develop and produce VF’s podcast program from concept to distribution: format development, booking, recording, editing, and publishing
  • Develop, produce, and oversee short-form multimedia content that drives engagement and brand awareness (e.g., viral videos, conference highlights, campaign support videos, impact messaging)
  • Manage digital asset storage and organization across platforms, ensuring content is accessible, well-archived, and consistently maintained
  • Collaborate with VF’s contract videographers on in-person event coverage; cultivate and manage vendor relationships as needed

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing & Communications and Development teams to produce multimedia content that supports organizational priorities, from patient education and clinical outreach to fundraising campaigns and donor engagement
  • Support development campaign videos, awareness content, and other multimedia assets across departments
  • Ensure organizational photography and visual assets (headshots, event photos, conference coverage) are captured, organized, and accessible
  • Bring a collaborative, low-ego approach to cross-functional work, influencing without direct authority and keeping stakeholders aligned and on schedule

VF’s Core Competencies:

1. Purpose-Driven Commitment

2. Lifelong Learning and Innovation

3. Unified Teamwork

4. Agility in Action

5. Stakeholder Engagement and Service Excellence

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Film/Video Production, Marketing, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in multimedia production, with demonstrated experience producing webinars, podcasts, and video content end-to-end
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent) and comfort across the full post-production workflow
  • Experience with webinar platforms and production tools (e.g., Zoom Webinars, Riverside, StreamYard, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of major social media platforms and how to tailor content for different audiences and channels
  • Portfolio or work samples demonstrating a range of multimedia production (webinars, podcasts, social content, video)
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work independently, and meet competing deadlines in a remote environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the prior experience building relationships across teams and engage professionally with physicians, patients, and external partners
  • Experience working with or managing contract vendors, including videographers and editors
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and a track record of using data to shape content strategy
  • Familiarity with AI tools as they relate to content creation, and openness to their evolving role in multimedia production
  • Willingness to travel for VF events, patient conferences, and related activities (approximately 3–5 times per year, with occasional international travel)
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and creating content that is accessible and representative of VF’s diverse community
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload with minimal direction in a fully remote environment

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience creating content for healthcare, patient advocacy, medical education, or clinical audiences
  • Photography skills and experience managing organizational visual assets
  • Proficiency with project management platforms and CRM or database tools (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Experience producing multimedia content in a nonprofit healthcare setting

Benefits

The Vasculitis Foundation offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including:

  • A collaborative, mission-driven team culture with a genuine commitment to work-life balance
  • Core collaboration hours of 10am–3pm CST, with flexibility in start and end times
  • A fully remote work environment, with travel for conferences and related events
  • Robust professional development support, including a formal annual review process and individualized development planning
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Employer-sponsored health insurance: the Foundation covers 85% of the employee premium (dependent coverage available at full cost); optional dental and vision coverage
  • 403(b) retirement plan with 5% employer match after six months
  • Generous family leave

Work Environment

The Vasculitis Foundation is a fully remote organization. This position requires effective performance in a home office, regular collaboration with team members across time zones through virtual communication tools, and travel to conferences, patient events, and VF-related activities. Candidates based in Central or Mountain time zones are strongly preferred.
