Veterinary Assistant, Dentistry
$20- $22 based on experience and skill set
Full-time opportunity in Annapolis, Maryland
Schedule: Full-time with some extended days; no weekend hours required

At The Animal Dental Center, part of Ethos Veterinary Health, you'll join a specialty practice with more than 30 years of experience providing exceptional veterinary dental and oral-surgical care. Our team is committed to building trusting partnerships with pet owners while creating a warm, compassionate experience for every patient and client.
You'll work alongside five board-certified veterinary dentists and five residents with more than 40 cumulative years of professional experience in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. With access to advanced technology, including CBCT imaging and state-of-the-art monitoring and diagnostic equipment, you'll have opportunities to expand your skills in a highly progressive learning environment.
In your day-to-day, you will:
  • Support veterinarians and clinical teams during advanced dental and oral-surgical procedures
  • Assist with anesthesia, IV catheter placement, patient preparation, and surgical support
  • Provide attentive pre-operative and post-operative nursing care
  • Monitor and support patients throughout anesthesia and recovery
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns promptly to the clinical team
  • Educate clients on oral health, home care, and post-operative instructions
  • Maintain accurate patient records and support efficient case management
  • Prepare, clean, and maintain treatment areas, equipment, and specialty instruments
  • Learn and utilize veterinary dental software, imaging systems, and specialty technology
  • Take initiative in managing responsibilities while working effectively with limited direct supervision
  • Participate in continuing education and monthly training programs through the Animal Dental Training Center
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture
What You Bring
  • Three to five years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician
  • Experience with anesthesia, IV catheterization, surgical patient care, and patient recovery
  • Strong client communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient and client care
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-reward specialty environment
  • Ability to take initiative, manage cases, and work effectively without direct supervision
  • Computer and technology proficiency with the ability to learn specialty medical and dental software
  • Schedule flexibility, including the ability to work occasional extended days
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care
