Job description

Salary: $19-$20 per hour DOE

The route driver drives a company vehicle over an established route to deliver vending products and render services. The route driver delivers excellent customer service to all vending clients by filling soda, snack, and food machines to pre-set levels and ensuring all customer requests are met. The route driver ensures the route is kept at established cleanliness levels and is responsible for the inventory on their vehicle, loading the vehicle, any paperwork, and the money that will be collected from each vending machine. Route starts at 6:00 a.m. Mon-Fri.


Principle Tasks: Responsible for ensuring well stocked, clean and working vending machines on a predesignated route. Responsible for making machine collections and bring back to branch office where they are counted and deposited. Completing their route within their normally scheduled hours. Keeping vehicle properly maintained, obeying all traffic laws, and a professional appearance. The driver is also responsible for accurate recording of information. Driver is held accountable for any shortages if deemed they are responsible. Interacts with other departments as necessary. Responds to customer preferences and industry trends. Maintains required records and appropriate paperwork. Ensures that established sanitation and safety standards are maintained. Interacts with clients and acts as the contact for the company. Must be able to work inside and in outdoor weather. Informs management of competitive activities. Reports situations or problems to management. Follow-up on completed tasks.


Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent.


Requires a good driving record, random drug testing, as well as passing a background check for access to the local prisons.


General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience in vending or as a route driver is a plus.

Customer service experience is a plus.


The vending route driver must possess the following: General computer knowledge. General knowledge and understanding of the company's needs. Ability to maintain records. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with a hand held scanner for inventory and daily balancing of the machines. Goal Oriented and Good Work ethics Must have a neat appearance. Ability to promote additional sales. Ability to interact with other personnel.

Physical Demands: Work with frequent interruptions. Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling required. Must be able to lifting of up to 50 pounds required. Must have a clean appearance.
